THE STUDIO
Studio 1 Architects is an architecture design studio dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed homes. Each project develops from conversations, experiences, and heartfelt understanding of space and function. A two-principal firm, Studio 1's work spans across Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Carolina.
We believe that great homes are not simply designed, but discovered through close collaboration. From the first conversation to the final detail, we work alongside our clients to understand how they live, what they value, and what they hope to create, then bring that understanding to life in spaces that are both beautiful and lasting.

Steve and Alison Poteracki, a husband-and-wife architect team, make up the studio. Their partnership on projects brings a vision from concept to completion on each project. Each project benefits from the dynamic exchange of ideas, perspectives, and expertise, resulting in designs that are thoughtful, balanced, and deeply considered.​
